The metal artist Sakiko Sugimura creates small metal works using suction casting.
By making a mold, pouring liquid metal into it, and casting in a vacuum with a suction casting machine, it is possible to express fine details.
Embroidery is applied to the wax mold by piercing the wax with a needle, creating fine patterns that can be seen on the final product.
A and C are cast in bronze, and B is cast in aluminum.
These plates can be used to serve small snacks or to hold trinkets.
Made in Japan.
